The WNY Consortium Sexual Assault Awareness, Prevention and Compliance Task Force, co-chaired by Robyn Wiktorski-Reynolds, hosted a Title IX Education Workshop on March 9th at Hilbert College. Title IX refers to federal laws that colleges and universities have to comply with, with regards to safety on campus, reporting crimes and cases that involve domestic violence, sexual violence, sexual harassment and stalking. Joe Storch, Associate Counsel for SUNY, who is an expert on Title IX and Clery compliance, led a panel discussion on the topic. The panel included local experts from law enforcement, Title IX administration, advocacy and awareness, and student conduct. Ashley Amidon, a Crisis Services Advocate was a panelist. Robyn and Ashley then hosted one of the break-out session. Several other Advocates were in attendance, as well, in what has proven to be a great example of the partnerships that Crisis Services has forged with several local college campuses.
