Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in our country. However, for the first time in several years, 2018 showed a decrease in suicides in Erie County. It’s a testament to the collaboration of people and services all across the county. Crisis Services CEO Jessica Pirro was recently asked about the efforts aimed at decreasing those numbers even further. She explained to Channel 7 WKBW at a Suicide Prevention Awareness Day press conference on September 10, 2019, how Crisis Services works with fellow community organizations, officials and leaders to provide help to people who need it, where and when they need it most.
